Comments: For years it has seemed manifestly obviious that the Constitution is not a Christian document. The endless historical searches to prove the founders were Christian, provides no proof that the document itself reflects Biblical thought. To any serious Christian, the mere fact that the Constitution contains zero specific Biblical reference or even specific Biblical language, should be enough to encourage suspicion of it as a Christian work. Its further denial and overthrow of Biblical law should readily identify the Constitution as a document unfit for the governance of a Christian people. American churchmen ought to be discussing its replacement not it renewal.

Comments: Paradigm shifts are often difficult because one must pierce through cognitive dissonance. But once through, it is like coming out from under the platform to stand on top of it...the whole world opens up to him.

Comments: While a work of genius, with its checks and balances and calculated distribution of power across government and pointed limiting of powers for a government, the Constitution fails as an expression of any of its writers' Christian faith, no matter how solid a faith they actually had. Starting with the Preamble, the Constitution severely missed the mark required to qualify it as the supposedly Christian document so many hail it as being. Similar failings then abound throughout the document. The United States WAS founded and won from it's colonial master by the work of humble, dedicated, courageous Christians. The final version of the Constitution did them a disservice, however, in failing to be unabashedly Christian and instead was calculatedly written to uphold humanism and plurality. Merely allowing room for Christianity was not enough. We will continue to pay the price for this failing unless or until it is rectified.

Comments: I once believed that as a Christian I must support the Constitution. I now know that I must follow God's law and the two are NOT the same!
